The Advantages of Companionship
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Yeah, I wont be laboring on the thought of marriage as most would think would be the main subject of this blog because of my tittle. I want to talk about one of the blossoming friendships that God has brought my way and this is what I call my Sunday best buddies. Not because we are only friends on Sundays which is after church services but because we spend time after church sunday services at the Fort.
At first, we have nothing in common in terms of interest or personality. One is shy and would only speak if you give her the chance to, the other one would talk non-stop. But as if divine intervention or a God ordained friendship, we would find that we are gravitating towards each other after service. We would talk about the normal challenges of being single, the victories we had that week and then we would linger over dinner. We would honor one another and then pray until it is past midnight.
Whatever we do, we would always enjoy because there is always an element of surprise of what the other would say next or do next. There are many imperfections but we enjoy them because we complement each other and celebrate each other's individuality.
I found a treasure in each of them. One would give me a heartful of advice and one would fill me with bundles of laughter. They add spice and pizzaz to my routinary sunday after service life and gives it meaning because I'm drawn more and more towards God.
They are one of those friendships founded in God- A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. or should I say four because God is the center. I take this time to thank God for Aileen and Joanne.
