All in one day!
It is so amazing to see, how you move and act on specific things
Just when everything is a haze, there's a flicker of light that sets
It all happened a week ago, the last day before the week ended
I was restless in my sleep, clouds of darkness enveloped me
I woke in the middle of the night, I realized it's already dawn
I was filled with anxiety, asking when, why, how?
Still I trusted you to see what is hidden inside of me
It's all questions and there's doubt. I felt empty as can be.
Almost slipping, drifting away, Lord I know you're the only way!
Too many lies have been spoken, too many lords claim your place
In the midst of the raging storm, battling inside of me
My heart pounds for hope, begging for you to come near me
Groaning, questioning, reasoning, finally found the guts to ask you
Yet too desperate to say it all, not even tears could make it to fall.
After three hours of laboring, battling inside of me
"Be still and know that I am God" said the voice, which strengthened me.
Next day I can remember, I woke up all fresh and rejuvenated
I can't explain why it disappeared, the heaviness suddenly lifted.
Looking forward with anticipation what you'll do that day
What I don't know is that night, you will show me the way.
As usual it was time, for all in our cell to meet
It has been quite sometime, since the last fellowship
The prayer was so intense, You made your presence known
You used my friends to know, the war that's going on
This old friend touched my hand, she never let me go
You used her hands to say, "Hang on! The breakthrough's coming very soon".
It's wonderful how you exposed what’s really happening to me
You made unaware lips pray for me, led guiding hands to comfort me
The night went on and I enjoyed, your overwhelming love
You showed me what really matters most…You are the only One
So as we watch a movie and dined the night away
Something's telling me how sweet it is
To tell my soul “Be Still.”
