An excerpt: The Frog and the Prince

Image
source: anonymous "Do you have a boyfriend yet Paula?" I roll my eyes and shake my head just thinking of the many times someone has asked me that question. In our culture today, this is a fairly justifiable question to ask an 18-year-old girl. However, this 18-year-old does not have a standard response. I say, "No, I don't need one." Most girls would say this just after a devastating breakup and they say it bitterly because they don't want to discuss it. Neither is true for me. When I say it it's because at this point in my life I truly don't need one. I don't see the point in having countless boyfriends before finally settling down with "Mr. Right". This system of finding a mate is similar to the concept of going to a pond and kissing a frog hoping that one of them will turn into a prince. I find the concept of dating foolish, and so I am going to practice courtship. Courting simply means that you don't get into a serious relations...

who is the man in the garden?

Image
....the man in the garden he is watching, watching closely not from afar he is waiting intently , waiting for His signal he is silently relishing each morsel of moment he savors and adores each passing time because he says to himself...."I want to catch the unguarded occasion, observe her highs and lows, gather her favorite things, and see what she adores". he is preparing, qualifying himself because he knows, "She is no ordinary woman, she is going to be my own". he is anticipating every day that a new surprise awaits, "how can i put a smile in face?, my lovely doe, my graceful deer" ....the woman she is unaware of the man because she is filled with everyday joys she is concious of one thing, someone is watching her but she has no idea who she is knows about the man in the garden because she knows him but not enough to notice him she is focused in her work and she happily tends to her plants and animals that quarts in her garden the story continues about ...

Image
...i don't need to always go out to have fun and be happy...i am satisfied ...i don't need to be affirmed all the time that I am pretty because I know who I am in Christ ...i don't need to be surrounded with friends all the time because I have found what makes me happy ...i don't need to fill myself with all types of activities to feel fulfilled, because I am accepted and I know my purpose ...i only need one thing and one thing alone, that is knowing You my One true love and there is no greater thing Satisfied Mind Red Hayes and Jack Rhodes How many times have you heard someone say,"If I had his money I would do things my way." How little they know, well, it's so hard to find,One rich man in ten with a satisfied mind. Oh, once I was waiting for fortune and fame, Had everything that I needed to get a start in life's game. Then suddenly it happened, I lost every dime,But I'm richer by far with a satisfied mind. No money can buy back your youth whe...

Someone will always be prettier

Image
Someone will always be prettier. They will always be smarter. Their house will be bigger. They will drive a better car. Their children will do better in school. And their husband will fix more things around the house. So let it go, and love you and your circumstances. Think about it. The prettiest woman in the world can have trouble in her heart. And the most highly favored woman on your job may be unable to havechildren. And the richest woman you know -- she's got the car, the house, the clothes -- might be lonely. And the Word says if I have not Love, I am nothing. So, again, love you. Love who you are right now and let God be your barometer. Mirror Him. Look in the mirror in the morning and see how much of God you see. He's the only standard; and even when you come up short, He will not leave you nor forsake you. Smile and may God continue to bless you."I am too blessed to be stressed or depressed, and too anointed to bedisappointed!" The shortest distance between ...

Do you know the story of the pearl?

Image
Do you know the story of the pearl? It starts from a sand grain that gets into an oyster. To ease the irritation, the oyster coats it & transforms it into a shiny pearl. The pearl's story is ours too. We can be ugly, rough, unattractive. But the passing of time transforms us, coupled with our openness to life. We are created each moment, each day in ways unseen, unnoticed, even unfelt. And we are created into something beautiful & precious in God's eyes.

Everything's New

I've been ignoring my blog for a month now because I have more important things to do than bogging. That is dealing with stuff that is pertinent to my spiritual growth and my being complete. I can say now that I am more complete, at least I feel complete. And this is not because I have friends and family who loves me but because I have learned the greatest lesson. My worth is found in him. I know of this fact that my identity, my significance and value lies in God but I was caught up with too many things. Let's just say I am serving the king but I don't know the king or drifting away from the king. I was overwhelmed with the blessings that I delighted in my blessings more than I delighted with the Blessor, at least I recognized it now.I was snatched from my focus that I felt limped when my day is not complete if I didn't do this and that, if I didn't have those stuff, or if I wasn't accepted or received much by this person or that person. It's a foolish thin...

An Encouragement E-Mail

Image
I have never felt in my 13 years of walk with God this much shaking. I can relate very well now with David when he said his feet had almost slipped. I felt like my life is ebbing away. Of course it's all but a lie and I'm slowly getting tired of life's worldly cares, the toxic work I have and a lot of relationship disappointments. Everyone who knows me knows that the more I'm challenged, the more I fight and stand my ground but all of a sudden I'm willing to take the back seat and just walk away from all of them. One part of me says that's is good because I need to choose which battle to fight. But then I know it's an excuse for me to really be sluggish and not act. I know deep inside that I need to go through a battle to fight and win it. Am not talking about physical fist fighting but spiritual. Maybe this is also a chance for me to reach a higher level of maturity for after all I need to persevere when troubles come so I can be mature (james 1:3). Or I ma...
